Crimson Forest Area Guide

The Crimson Forest is the game's atmosphere showcase: a red-canopied woodland ("Snake's Reflection" is its chapter name) that holds the Thieves' Camp, the Mirrorwood and the lairs of three boss-tier fights — Hua Qianxiao the Sword Fanatic, Stone Hand Iron Fever, and Bai Chilian, the Sacrificial Serpent, whose second phase is where the chapter closes. This is also the region where Memory Flowers are formally introduced, tying the exploration loop (flowers grant +5-7% max HP each and carry story fragments) to the region boss: players who collect the local flowers before Bai Chilian report the fight playing out differently than for those who did not.

The human enemies here are Thieves' Camp gangs, and the region holds four Blackstone Fragments — a ravine dead end at the bridge overlook, a chest in shallow water at the bottom of the Trail of Cages, the room before the Red Serpent House in the Upper Thieves' Camp, and a cell in the Cliffside Lodge underground prison where a nearby corpse carries the Secret Chamber Crank. Jing Ye, the Outlaw — a minor boss whose Outlaw Warblade later becomes equipment — also fights here.

The chapter ends when Bai Chilian falls and the Resonance Talisman changes hands. Her fight is the first real two-phase serpent duel, and the community consensus is blunt: collect the local Memory Flowers first. They are permanent max-HP either way, and the pre-boss collection is the version of the fight the story was built around.
