Copper-Skinned Monks - Enemy Guide & How to Fight
Area: Weeping Creek Valley
Combat Trait: Heavy guard, stagger-resistant
Counter Approach: Guard Break pressure
Where You Meet Them
Copper-Skinned Monks guard the valley's Sha-Qi Tower: a fixed trio stands at its base, and defeating them is the price of the Blackstone Fragment hidden there. They are the first enemies in Phantom Blade Zero that simply refuse to stagger — their guard eats standard combos whole, and their own attacks come slow enough to teach you that patience, not speed, breaks guards.
How to Fight Them
Monks are a Guard Break lesson. Standard combos (the light button) cost no Sha-Chi and chip their guard; Sha-Chi combos (the heavy button) burn through it fast but drain your gauge — and their return swings punish an empty gauge. The clean rotation is: light strings to pressure, parry the blue flashes to drain their Sha-Chi, then spend your heavy combos once Guard-Broken, when the stagger window turns every hit into full damage.
Drops and Value
The tower trio guards a Blackstone Fragment directly. Monks otherwise drop standard crafting materials, and they are worth revisiting on a fresh file purely as Guard Break practice for Pangzhen's Shadow Wardens.
